Compton college is dedicated to help current and former foster youth! Starting Spring 2023, Âé¶¹Ó°Òôapp is excited to introduce NextUp and Project Tipping Point to Âé¶¹Ó°Òôapp. Learn more about each program below:


 

NextUp

NextUp provides community college students like you with resources that make a difference. The program offers eligible current and former foster youth support and services that could include help with books and supplies, priority registration, transportation, tutoring, food and emergency housing.

NextUp Eligibility

  • In foster care after the age of 16
  • Under age 26
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 9 units (or be on an educational plan to work towards 9 units)
  • Have an EOPS application on file

Project Tipping Point

Project Tipping Point is designed for current or former foster youth, age 18-25, with a high school diploma or GED. The program is a great fit for young adults that are serious about attaining a college education to boost their long-term career opportunities and earning potential. This program offers: Full tuition, books and supplies, Monthly TAP card/gas card, on-site case management, and highly personalized support.

Project Tipping Point Eligibility:

  • Current or former foster youth
  • Between the ages of 18-25
  • Earned a high school diploma or GED
